In addition, we have three bookable spaces for workshops, meetings and interviews. My business brings together two crafts I’m completely addicted to: crochet and Indian block printing — and that’s exactly where the name Stitch & Splodge comes from. I’m also starting to explore new ways of interpreting “stitching” and “splodging” and hope to offer even more craft-based workshops very soon. I run my workshops from my own inviting studio in a new location at the heart of Stoke village. My studio is a beautifully light, colourful, and tranquil little retreat — the perfect spot to get creative. Learn more

Every item is thoughtfully designed and handmade to transform cherished memories into beautiful, meaningful gifts. My journey began in 2021 when my parents bought me a Silhouette machine — a gift that completely changed my path. What started as a small creative hobby quickly became my passion and my business. With each new design, I discovered just how much joy I get from creating personalised gifts that make people smile. Living with ADHD means my mind is always bursting with ideas (and sometimes running in ten directions at once!), but that creativity is what fuels my work. Every piece I make is created with care, love, and a sprinkle of chaos — because that’s real life! Since starting Material Mum Designs, my business has grown more than I ever imagined. I’ve had moments of doubt, but I’ve also had incredible encouragement from my family and friends, who have always believed in me even when I didn’t. Their support — and the kind words from my lovely customers — keep me going every day. Learn more

Textile art created by sewing onto old sea charts to celebrate our coastal heritage. Using rescued and recycled fabrics to create something brand new. < Back Hannah Wisdom Textiles Textile art created by sewing onto old sea charts to celebrate our coastal heritage. Using rescued and recycled fabrics to create something brand new. My original textile artworks are created in my Plymouth, Devon studio, using rescued and recycled fabrics sewn onto old discarded admiralty charts. My works show wildlife, history and culture, and the charts add context, providing an immediate linkage to the environment of the subject. The charts bring their own history to the piece, and I love how their scars and blemishes add an extra layer of interest to the work. My prints are produced by my local fine art printer, using cutting edge 3D scanning technology. This means that my prints show all the texture and depth of the original works, and are often mistaken for the originals! I have a gallery and studio in the old seaplane hangars at Mount Batten. You are welcome to come and pay me a visit! I'm usually there Tues - Fri 10-3, but please get in touch if you are making a special trip, in case I am at a market or need to pop out on an errand. I'm opposite the beach, just along from the cafe, and there is plenty of free parking. There's an events area on this website so you can catch me out and about. Learn more
