The Mindful Market is a joyful celebration of wellbeing, community, and conscious living, held during Mental Health Month at The Birdhouse Café, a much-loved, community-run café in Alphington, Exeter.

This vibrant, family-friendly event brings together our eco-conscious business members, each with their own stall space to exhibit and sell thoughtfully made, sustainable products. From handmade goods to ethical brands, the market is a chance to shop with purpose and connect directly with the people behind the businesses.

Set within the warm and inclusive surroundings of The Birdhouse Café, The Mindful Market is designed to be a relaxed, welcoming day out for all ages, a place to support local businesses, care for the planet, prioritise mental wellbeing, and enjoy time together as a community.
The day offers much more than shopping. Visitors can take part in onsite workshops and activities. There will be a dedicated chill-out zone providing a calm area to rest and recharge, while Dance DynamiX's dance performances throughout the day add creativity, movement, and joy to the atmosphere.

“The Birdhouse is set in a quiet hidden conservation area in Exeter opposite a beautiful wisteria walkway. Grab a coffee, lay out a picnic blanket and listen to the birdsong. We all need a base, someone to chat to, a place that feels safe …. and a good coffee!”
They are a not-for-profit, community-based organisation who specialise in providing employment and volunteering opportunities for adults with disabilities. Their sister company, Garland Support, have been supporting adults with disabilities for over 10 years in Exeter.
The Birdhouse Cafe is a Social Enterprise Café & Community Space in Pinces Gardens with plant-based milk alternatives and vegan cakes. 100% profits help break down stereotypes and create opportunities for adults with disabilities and learning difficulties.
