Marbling Artist + Leatherworker RACHEL O'CONNELL I am a sustainable, multi-media marbling artist and an educator. I marble on paper, natural textiles, including leather, and on wood. I love the diversity of marbling, creating leather goods, including jewellery, wearable textile art scarves, cushions, tableware, lighting and stationery. Marbling is a surface pattern art, originating in Japan over a thousand years ago and is now seen as an endangered heritage craft. WORKSHOPS If you are keen to learn how to marble, I tutor workshops in my own studio in South Devon, in local galleries and at events, like Craft Festival. I enjoy demonstrating in schools, galleries and museums throughout the UK. I am also a tutor for West Dean Art College, Oxford Summer Art School and The National Trust.
