Here you can find out more about the types of events we host, and where they are held. Circular social events In a nutshell, our community is made up of eco-conscious businesses that we promote, shout about and share. Our main goal is to bring people together, engage in analogue activities, and create a welcoming, friendly community for those who love meeting new people, connecting, enjoying crafting activities, and more, in Devon. Here you can find information about the types of events we host and what you can expect when attending one. the bedazzling book club The Bedazzling Book Club was created with book lovers and crafters in mind. Combining the two into one event. Our Bedazzling Book Clubs encourage attendees to engage in an analogue activity, bedazzling covers of their favourite books, or current reads, whilst chatting about books with prompts and discussion points. We also have a book swap area for those looking to bring a book and leave with a new one. The main aim of these events is that you can come solo or with friends. It is a warm and welcoming group of people, and the event is designed so that you can come to just one event or as many as you like as a regular attendee. Book your space the mindful market The Mindful Market is a joyful celebration of wellbeing, community & conscious living. It's our flagship event, which we'll be hosting annually, to bring together the eco-conscious businesses that make up the Circular Social community, to give them a space to exhibit their products and services in an event that is all about being more mindful in our approach to the way we shop, consume and live our day-to-day lives. It's designed to be a family-friendly event where people can come and spend a day in an enjoyable environment. There are nooks and crannies at the venue where activities and performances await discovery! It's all about community and collaboration overall. Learn more the mini-mindful market The mini-mindful market is a smaller version of our Mindful Market, hosted at various locations across Devon. These markets are mostly indoors, with the ability for our eco-conscious members to hire a table or pitch space to sell their products and services. The emphasis around these markets is the same: to offer eco-conscious products and/or services, and to encourage people to shop locally. They open up the possibility for attendees to meet the people behind each of the businesses and learn about what they do, why they do it and what benefits their products or services provide. Find dates for the next one the kitschy christmas market We decided not only did we want to host a Christmas market so that people can purchase meaningful, unique and eco-conscious products as gifts for the festive season, we also wanted to bring back an element of nostalgia. Celebrating the joyful excess that the season was made for, the kitschy Christmas market brings back the true spirit of kitsch: bold colours, twinkling tinsel, retro decorations, and that unmistakable sense of festive fun. Our Team Meet the Team Meet the founders of Circular Social Co-Founder Rebecca Winther As the owner of a preloved and vintage women's wear business, I am passionate about sustainable thrifting, shopping, and supporting local. I LOVE preloved fashion and am a huge advocate for rewearing! I wanted to build a community of like-minded individuals and business owners to help raise each other up and collaborate to help each other succeed - and that is why Circular Social became our next passion project. It's been amazing seeing it grow and flourish. Co-Founder Lanie Bayliss I've worked in digital marketing for a long time. Over my career, I've worked with a range of well-known brands and businesses, but I've always had a place in my heart for local Devon businesses. Working with Rebecca made me realise that local businesses need a lot more support. Rather than being in competition with other businesses in the same industry, it made sense for there to be a community to bring them together in collaboration - so Circular Social was born! Frequently asked questions Who is the community for? Small Devon businesses ideally with an eco-focus operating and serving customers and clients in Devon. What does Circular Social do? We bring together makers, creators, and sellers of preloved, vintage, handmade, and sustainable goods and services to build a supportive network rooted in collaboration rather than competition. What is Circular Social's mission? Whether you’re a local business owner looking to grow your reach or someone passionate about sustainability and creativity, Circular Social is a space where like-minded individuals can connect, cross-promote, and thrive together. We champion the value of creativity, quality and reuse, spotlighting the unique stories behind the products and services our members offer. What are Circular Social events? At Circular Social, we believe that community and sustainability go hand in hand. Through engaging events like markets, sip & swaps, workshops and networking meetups hosted at beautiful local venues, we create opportunities for small businesses to be seen and heard while inspiring people to embrace mindful consumption. How does Circular Social make money? From a community point of view, we don't! We work completely voluntarily building and promoting our community members. We do put on Circular Social events to make a side income that can be put back into the community in terms of running the website, social channels and to host more events going forward. How can I get involved if I'm not a small local business? Even if you don’t run a small, eco-conscious business, you can play a vital role by supporting the local, independent traders in our community. Every purchase helps keep money in the local economy, reduces environmental impact, and supports people passionate about ethical, sustainable ways of working. By shopping second-hand, handmade, or locally produced, you’re helping to reduce waste, encourage mindful consumption, and be part of a more circular, community-focused way of living. Is Circular Social a business? Circular Social is a community, run voluntarily by Lanie Bayliss and Rebecca Winther. I've worked in retail for 16 years and have always had a keen eye for fashion trends and being daring with patterns, prints and colours for pieces in my wardrobe. When I became a mother, I found it difficult to keep up with the fast pace that my baby was growing. I was constantly having to source quality items that were durable, whilst prioritising the aesthetic of the pieces I collated for her. Since starting out with trading solely in children's clothing pieces, I decided to delve into the world of women's fashion - a true passion for me. I hope you like the pieces as much as I do! We run regular sip and swaps where you can give pieces you no longer wear a new home, and rehome vintage/preloved pieces from our rails! We run a sourcing service where you can enlist PB&J to source a collection, a select amount of pieces or an entire wardrobe for you. • Rest and Regrow

Rest and Regrow is about making space and time for rest using the ancient practise and guided meditation, Yoga Nidra. < Back Rest and Regrow Rest and Regrow is about making space and time for rest using the ancient practise and guided meditation, Yoga Nidra. My name is Anna and I am a Devon based rest facilitator and qualified Yoga Nidra teacher. I run Rest classes both online and in person, one to one sessions, face to face rest retreats. I discovered this ancient practise/path after experiencing acute debilitating perimenopausal symptoms and looking for tools to help me. Rest is so very underrated and undervalued in societies. Our busy lives are governed by our productivity and rest is not given any merit. caring for our needs, is so often confused with being ‘lazy’. There is not one person who would not benefit from more rest, and it was during my rest that I suddenly made decisions I had been pondering on for a long time and I finally found a path to follow helping others learn the power of rest and all the benefits that come with it.
