- Circular Social Events | Circular Social
Here you can find out more about the types of events we host, and where they are held. Circular social events In a nutshell, our community is made up of eco-conscious businesses that we promote, shout about and share. That's the 'circular' part of our community, where we are truly passionate not just about the eco-focus but also about the importance of shopping locally in Devon. The 'social' part is our events. Our main goal is to bring people together, engage in analogue activities, and create a welcoming, friendly community for those who love meeting new people, connecting, enjoying crafting activities, and more, in Devon. Here you can find information about the types of events we host and what you can expect when attending one. the bedazzling book club The Bedazzling Book Club was created with book lovers and crafters in mind. Combining the two into one event. Our Bedazzling Book Clubs encourage attendees to engage in an analogue activity, bedazzling covers of their favourite books, or current reads, whilst chatting about books with prompts and discussion points. We also have a book swap area for those looking to bring a book and leave with a new one. The main aim of these events is that you can come solo or with friends. It is a warm and welcoming group of people, and the event is designed so that you can come to just one event or as many as you like as a regular attendee. Book your space the mindful market The Mindful Market is a joyful celebration of wellbeing, community & conscious living. It's our flagship event, which we'll be hosting annually, to bring together the eco-conscious businesses that make up the Circular Social community, to give them a space to exhibit their products and services in an event that is all about being more mindful in our approach to the way we shop, consume and live our day-to-day lives. It's designed to be a family-friendly event where people can come and spend a day in an enjoyable environment. There are nooks and crannies at the venue where activities and performances await discovery! It's all about community and collaboration overall. Learn more the mini-mindful market The mini-mindful market is a smaller version of our Mindful Market, hosted at various locations across Devon. These markets are mostly indoors, with the ability for our eco-conscious members to hire a table or pitch space to sell their products and services. The emphasis around these markets is the same: to offer eco-conscious products and/or services, and to encourage people to shop locally. They open up the possibility for attendees to meet the people behind each of the businesses and learn about what they do, why they do it and what benefits their products or services provide. Find dates for the next one the kitschy christmas market We decided not only did we want to host a Christmas market so that people can purchase meaningful, unique and eco-conscious products as gifts for the festive season, we also wanted to bring back an element of nostalgia. Celebrating the joyful excess that the season was made for, the kitschy Christmas market brings back the true spirit of kitsch: bold colours, twinkling tinsel, retro decorations, and that unmistakable sense of festive fun. In addition, we have three bookable spaces for workshops, meetings and interviews. My business brings together two crafts I’m completely addicted to: crochet and Indian block printing — and that’s exactly where the name Stitch & Splodge comes from. I’m also starting to explore new ways of interpreting “stitching” and “splodging” and hope to offer even more craft-based workshops very soon.
