Susie’s work is inspired by nature, folklore and history, blending traditional drawing and painting techniques with a refined decorative aesthetic. Each piece begins by hand in her rural Devon studio, before becoming original artwork, fine art prints and carefully crafted homeware.

Over the years, I’ve spent many hours in the life drawing room developing my draughtsmanship skills. Consequently, drawing underpins all of my work, and then my creativity takes shape using various media including watercolour, inks, and gouache to produce hand-rendered imagery.
Then, bringing everything together digitally in Photoshop. I’ve also begun playing with Adobe Illustrator and Procreate more recently when I’m designing patterns. I love learning new skills and if you’re interested in learning more I have been known to post about the classes I take on my blog .
