Circular Social's 'The Mindful Market' is a joyful celebration of wellbeing, community, and conscious living, held during Mental Health Month at The Birdhouse Café, a much-loved, community-run café in Alphington, Exeter. the mindful market 2026 We held The Mindful Market, a joyful celebration of wellbeing, community, and conscious living, at The Birdhouse Café on Sunday, 31st May. It was an amazing family and pet-friendly day, with lots of stalls to browse and activities to get involved in. We really look forward to welcoming you back next year, where we get to do it all over again! about the birdhouse cafe “The Birdhouse is set in a quiet hidden conservation area in Exeter opposite a beautiful wisteria walkway. Grab a coffee, lay out a picnic blanket and listen to the birdsong. We all need a base, someone to chat to, a place that feels safe …. and a good coffee!” They are a not-for-profit, community-based organisation who specialise in providing employment and volunteering opportunities for adults with disabilities. Their sister company, Garland Support, have been supporting adults with disabilities for over 10 years in Exeter. The Birdhouse Cafe is a Social Enterprise Café & Community Space in Pinces Gardens with plant-based milk alternatives and vegan cakes. 100% profits help break down stereotypes and create opportunities for adults with disabilities and learning difficulties.

Marbling Artist + Leatherworker RACHEL O'CONNELL I am a sustainable, multi-media marbling artist and an educator. I marble on paper, natural textiles, including leather, and on wood. I love the diversity of marbling, creating leather goods, including jewellery, wearable textile art scarves, cushions, tableware, lighting and stationery. Marbling is a surface pattern art, originating in Japan over a thousand years ago and is now seen as an endangered heritage craft. WORKSHOPS If you are keen to learn how to marble, I tutor workshops in my own studio in South Devon, in local galleries and at events, like Craft Festival. I enjoy demonstrating in schools, galleries and museums throughout the UK. I am also a tutor for West Dean Art College, Oxford Summer Art School and The National Trust. SHOP I make to order, shipping 3-4 weeks from order and 6-8 weeks for larger trade orders. In my shop you will find a gallery of past makes, which can be custom made to suit.
